Welcome Rachel Pankratz! Rachel has a mother heart. We are so excited to have her as one of our instructors. Knowing she is guiding her students through the early days of pregnancy and parenting is something we are proud of.  She teaches birth classes in Tomball, TX.

Welcome to the Birth Boot Camp family, Rachel!

Introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your birth experiences.

My name is Rachel Pankratz and I have two biological children. My first birth was a “typical” birth involving an epidural and everything that’s is included in that. I had an allergic reaction to the epidural and was given an antihistamine which knocked me out and I remember nothing about my first child’s birth.

I knew the next time around I wanted it to be different.

I had an unmedicated birth for my second child and although it still did not go how I would have ideally envisioned it, I can look back on that birth and feel empowered knowing I was in control.

What first got you interested in birth work?

After poor care at my two births I was determined to never let that happen to anyone if I could help it. I wanted to educate and empower women to have the best birth for them and their desires. Childbirth education makes this possible.

Do you have any particular passions concerning birth?

First time moms and moms wanting to do things different would be my biggest passion. Women don’t know that they have options and I want to share that with them. The first birth matters!

Why did you choose Birth Boot Camp as your certifying organization?

I love that Birth Boot Camp is not a method but gives the couples all the tools they need to have the birth that they want and that is best for them.

Tell us a little about your Birth Boot Camp training experience- what did you like about it, where was it, who was your trainer?

I trained as a childbirth educator in Dallas under Donna and Sarah who developed the program. I loved being able to see their passion and learn from them first hand.

How did your training help prepare you for teaching?

My training helped me understand the demographic that I would be teaching and helped give the the creative tools I need to have an interactive class.
